Introducing Rio Coffee's state-of-the-art training facility. Now open at our Stepney roastery/retail space, the purpose-built studio houses all the latest technology and is available at no cost to our wholesale customers. The room is also utilized for public training courses and provides an immersive, hands-on experience.

We have great faith in the quality and taste of our coffee and are committed to having it served by the most well-educated and informed baristas around.  We offer comprehensive staff training all our wholesale customers (at no charge) at our state-of-the-art training facility. Classes cover achieving and maintaining a good quality extraction, managing the grinder, milk texturing, serving and machine maintenance.

Learn the art of coffee-making from the makers of specialty coffee since 1964. The espresso studio is a 2-hour coffee training course, conducted by our head barista in our professional training facility. It is essential learning for anyone looking to master their skills as a barista (at home or at work) or discover how truly great coffee is made. Oh, and it makes an ideal gift!

Training is held Saturdays (see schedual) from 9:30-11:30am. $120 for 120 minutes.

For the industry professional or the serious coffee connoisseur, consider a 1-on-1 'coaching' session with our barista trainer and hone your skills, or prepare yourself for entry into the café industry. This format can be tailored to cover areas you wish to develop and matched to your level of experience and expectation.
